Overview

The Western Forbs: Biology, Ecology, and Use in Restoration project is designed to aid seed collectors, seed growers, nurserymen, landowners, restoration practitioners, and land managers as they increase the supply and use of native forbs.

Purpose

This online book synthesizes all existing research and practical experience gained over the last 20 years. It is designed to aid seed collectors, seed growers, nurserymen, landowners, restoration practitioners, and land managers as they increase the supply and use of native forbs. Each chapter features an individual species’ biology, ecology, seed technology, and use in restoration based on literature and data available at the time of publication.

Geography

The species included in the Western Forbs project occur in the Great Basin and beyond. They are important to many western ecosystems.

Results

There are nearly 50 forb species reviews housed at WesternForbs.org
Important data related to each species can be accessed, filtered, and sorted using the associated Look-up Table
